myoFASCIA RELEASE THERAPY
The brain's natural impulse when it feels a stretch is to say, "Stop! This could get hurt!" Beyond sheer physical limitation in any stretch, this neurological response that makes your muscles tighten up can prevent you from achieving full benefits. Facilitating stretching involves flexing or engaging a muscle group at the same time you are stretching it. During this session, we will help you receive the benefits of every stretch without risking injury while simultaneously building body awareness.
88 Athletica offers additional recovery services to enhance your personal training experience and physical performance. To achieve peak results in training your body must be injury free and ready for the challenges of training.
Massage Therapy can be a very powerful tool in the training process, but it is often misused or not in concert with your training program. At 88 we base our massage therapy on the training program you are following towards your goals and specific needs. All 88 clients are given priority scheduling with our massage therapist to align with your training schedule for optimal results. Types of massage utilized include; deep tissue, sports massage, and Thai massage.
The inside of the body is covered with soft tissue called fascia. The tissue covers evert structure including organs, muscles, nerves and blood vessels.
The fascia that covers your muscles is call myofascia.
When the myofascia is stressed from overuse or trauma it can tear and adhear together. These adhesions are called "trigger points" and can prevent the muscles from working well.
Trigger points lead to an increase in muscle stiffness and tenderness and a decrease in range-of-motion. In additional, the discomfort from trigger points can radiate from the adhesion. MyoFascia Release Therapy will help you release those pressure points to promote mobility and give you the range of motion that you're looking for.
